Overall Assessment/Reviews ... Fair to Good! The Viewsonic V1100 Tablet made it's debut in 2002 from the company best known for it's LCD Monitors and Displays. The Viewsonic Tablet PC is best suited for the dedicated corridor and meeting warrior. It has full handwriting recognition capabilities and a stylus for quick note taking. However, at 3.4 pounds it might prove a bit heavy to hold in one hand for any extended periods of time. But this is a slate machine and placing it on the desk gives a good writing surface in both portrait and landscape mode. It has a 10.4in XVGA display screen. Powered by a 866MHz Mobile Intel Pentium III, coupled with 256MB RAM, and featuring a 20GB hard disk. Connections include V90 modem, 10/100Mbit Ethernet, 802.11b wireless, PC Card and CompactFlash slots, 2 USB ports, and IEEE 1394. Windows XP Tablet PC Edition is the operating system. Size: 11.3 Height X 9.9 Width X 1.1 Depth Pros: Sturdy, and relatively inexpensive. Good navigation buttons and a good bundled software package. Cons: Rather heavy weight for a hand held Tablet PC, runs hot, short battery life - roughly 2 hours and you'll need 2.5 hours to recharge the battery. Conclusion: Worth considering for the working professional and the meeting warrior.
