public location for subscribers who pay a monthly fee to get the service. Subscribers 
need a special radio that can receive the satellite signal. There are two major US 
satellite radio service - XM and Sirius. Both of these transmits over a 100 channels 
of radio - most are commercial free.

Some of the great advantages of having XM Satellite Radio is the wide variety and 
commercial free listening. It is pure radio - pure music without the chit-chat nonsense 
you find on most AM and even FM stations. For those who like listening to the radio - its 
a must have service.

Perhaps, the major benefit of having Satellite Radio (sometimes referred to as digital radio)
- you don't have to flip thru stations as you're driving a long distance in order to keep the
radio tuned in and listenable as stations pop in and out of range! You can have the same static 
free, near CD-quality music beamed from space as drive from end of the country to the other.
