High end gaming manufacturers like Alienware sell style and flash along with all that power and performance. It's their business. They are great at it. And they have just become greater!

Alienware is releasing its next level of gaming notebooks and PCs - their ALX gaming machines. The laptop version Aurora mALX has some very impressive specs:

No doubt there are faster systems out there with faster cards such as the new EVGA GeForce® 8800 GTX 768MB PCI Express graphics card for DirectX 10 gaming.

But just forget the specs and performance for one moment, high end gaming makers like Alienware are really selling style and looks. But most of all, they are selling an image.

Serious gamers know this instinctively.

The cynics out there will no doubt argue these gaming machines are really more about marketing than gaming. More about packaging than about true gaming.
