The Core i5 processor is by Intel and is the brand name for several microprocessors, which came on the market in late 2009. They are ranked between the more mainstream Core 2 and Core i3 and the top-end Core i7.

The Core i5 750 is 2.66 GHz quad core processor with the hyper-threading disabled. It has 8 MB L3 cache with support for dual-channel DDR3-800/1066/1333 RAM. It also has a DMI (Direct Media Interface) bus which runs at 2.5 GT/s - remember, 1 GT/s means one billion transfers per second.
