Dual Core Laptops - One is better than two!

Laptops that have two CPUs combined for extra performance and power. Mainly used in gaming rigs where there's an ongoing race to produce the fastest, most powerful gaming machine that can be built.

AMD's Athlon 64 X2 4800 and Intel's Pentium 840 EE are a couple of examples of dual core processors - these are usually run with Crossfire graphics cards.

One actual example of a dual core laptop would be RockDirect's Xtreme 64 which features dual core Athlon 64 X2 processors hooked up to ATI Mobility Radeon X800 XT graphics card with 16 pixel pipelines.

Intel's Dual Core processors have largely being replaced with 2nd Generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 CPUs. These are much more powerful platforms and offers visible smart performance as these processors can adjust to the task at hand.
