Dell Inspiron 1000 is a very simple, basic, inexpensive machine. It
covers just the bare essentials adequately - web surfing, emailing,
word processing and DVD watching. You have to keep in mind - this
is a lower end model that can perform the above tasks at a
reasonable price.
Although there are different configurations - this Dell notebook
computer usually comes with an Intel Celeron (2.20 GHz) with
512 MB DDR SDRAM coupled with a 40 GB IDE Hard
drive. Plus an CD-RW/DVD combo drive. Check your
dealer for details.
You might want to get the extra Lithium ion Battery that will give you
2.5 hours of battery life.
Size: 13" x 10.6" x 1.5" @ 6.7 lbs
Cons: Low battery life, integrated graphics, low end performance.
Pros: Great price for what you get, passable components, Dell service.
Conclusion: This is an inexpensive notebook for those who just
want the basics - worth considering if you're on a
very tight budget.
