\nDoes Google Believe Your Links Are Natural?<\/b>

If you’re like me and monitor hundreds of major keywords
\nin Google on a daily basis, the last few weeks have been
\nreally interesting. There seems to be a major shake-up
\nin the works, mainly regarding your site’s backlinks
\nand if they appear natural or not.<\/p>\n

Google, now more than ever, seems to be judging the
\nquality of your links. Do your links follow set norms
\nor standards? Do they appear natural? Or do they
\nappear manipulated?<\/p>\n

Thousands of webmasters have received Google’s answer
\nin the form of a message in Google’s Webmasters Tools
\n– your site’s links appear unnatural.<\/p>\n

These webmasters have been told by Google to:<\/p>\n

“Specifically, look for possibly artificial or unnatural
\nlinks pointing to your site that could be intended to
\nmanipulate PageRank. Examples of unnatural linking could
\ninclude buying links to pass PageRank or participating
\nin link schemes.”<\/p>\n

In fact, Google has de-indexed some popular blog networks,
\nwhere webmasters could purchase links to manipulate their
\nrankings in Google. This is a warning sign for other
\nwebmasters to make sure your links are natural and not
\nmanipulated in any way.<\/p>\n

Of course, if you have been practicing SEO, you probably
\nhave been actively building backlinks to your site and
\nweb pages for ages. Now is a good time to re-examine your
\nlink building practices and see if they do meet Google’s
\nstandards.<\/p>\n

This is a very serious business, if your links appear unnatural,
\nyou will lose your rankings in Google. It can even make your
\nsite unprofitable.<\/p>\n

\ntopic and I list 5 or 6 things you can do to make your
\nlinks appear more natural in the eyes of Google.<\/p>\n

\nOne easy way to monitor your current links and keywords
\nin Google is simply to create Google Alerts for your
\nsite’s major keywords and your site’s URL. Then whenever
\nGoogle indexes a link containing these keywords or your URL
\n– Google sends you an email. Great way to track your links
\nand also a great way to track your competition.
