Summer has just ended and<br \/>\nthe long cold days of winter lie in waiting.<\/p>\n<p>The first days of September also means &#8220;Back To Work&#8221; time<br \/>\nfor me. In years past, it meant getting ready for a new<br \/>\nschool year and all the work that entailed. Now it means<br \/>\ngetting back to my Internet stuff. Just guess which one<br \/>\nI would rather be doing?<\/p>\n<p>It also means a time for new directions and changes.<br \/>\nReassessing what works and where to best spend your time<br \/>\nand efforts. This year I will be concentrating on increasing<br \/>\nmy traffic to my different sites and finding new ways to boost<br \/>\nthose numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Two new directions for me are videos and social media\/networking.<br \/>\nUnfortunately, these two areas are way out of my comfort zone,<br \/>\nhowever, one thing I have learned from working full-time on the<br \/>\nweb, you must follow the crowd, no matter where they lead you.<\/p>\n<p>You must plug your sites into the whole mix of what is happening<br \/>\non the web. In other words, you must follow the traffic. Right now<br \/>\nthere is a definite swing to videos and social networking sites.<br \/>\nYou must embrace these two areas if you want to get maximum<br \/>\ntraffic.<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Videos<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><br \/>\nI have had enough success with videos that I went out and bought<br \/>\na new camcorder (Canon Vixia HF200 &#8211; great little machine) with<br \/>\nthe hope of making some &#8220;over the shoulder videos&#8221; of the different<br \/>\nmarketing techniques and tactics I use in the daily running of my<br \/>\n9 or 10 websites.<\/p>\n<p>Videos are a simple way to bring in traffic and sales. And it&#8217;s<br \/>\nnot that difficult &#8211; I am still kinda shocked to realize some young<br \/>\nteenager not even in high school can pull in 4 or 5 grand a month<br \/>\nby partnering with Google Adsense on YouTube.<\/p>\n<p>For many people, that&#8217;s a full-time income. Heck, when I was in my<br \/>\nStarving Artist Stage &#8211; 5 grand would have made a nice yearly income!<\/p>\n<p>Videos present an excellent way of producing sales and traffic.<\/p>\n<p>They are also great for building your contact list. Many popular<br \/>\nYouTubers have lists of over 1 million subscribers. Just imagine<br \/>\nthe marketing power of releasing a video about your favorite product<br \/>\nor program to hundreds of thousands of loyal subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>Then there are the pure marketing benefits of using videos. It is<br \/>\na perfect way to get your point across. I can&#8217;t remember any recent<br \/>\nmajor product launch that DIDN&#8217;T has at least one video on the<br \/>\nsales page. Videos have become a marketing stable for selling your<br \/>\nproducts &#8211; online or off.<\/p>\n<p>So try producing your own videos or have someone else produce them<br \/>\nfor you. If you&#8217;re like me, the real problem is getting the time<br \/>\nto make your own videos &#8211; I am hoping I will get the time to explore<br \/>\nfor myself the whole process of making my own videos but if that<br \/>\ndoesn&#8217;t work out I can still use the video services offered by such<br \/>\nplaces as Phantonwriters.com&#8230; they produce very professional videos<br \/>\nwhich work.<\/p>\n<p>Video marketing is the wave of the future on the net so you simply<br \/>\ncan&#8217;t ignore this excellent way of bringing in more traffic and sales.<br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\nSocial Networking Sites<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>If you have been marketing on the web for some time &#8211; it&#8217;s really<br \/>\nhard to believe how new social media\/network sites have changed<br \/>\nhow business is done. The growing importance of Twitter is just<br \/>\none example of how quickly these sites have invaded our daily<br \/>\nroutines.<\/p>\n<p>It has also become an excellent way to build your list of contacts<br \/>\nand an excellent way to announce any new product or program you want<br \/>\nyour contacts to know about. Online marketers are taking advantage<br \/>\nof Twitter to build their traffic and to boost their sales.<\/p>\n<p>I have started using Twitter myself but as mentioned before I am<br \/>\nnot one for these social networking sites&#8230; I would rather concentrate<br \/>\nmy marketing efforts on ranking high for my chosen lucrative keywords<br \/>\nbut I can&#8217;t ignore Twitter because it has become a popular program<br \/>\neveryone and their grandmother is using. You have to take advantage<br \/>\nand plug your site and marketing into this whole traffic hub.<\/p>\n<p>Mainly because your content must be seen as relevant by the search<br \/>\nengines and one simple way to do this is to tie it all in with these<br \/>\nnew network sites&#8230; I make it a point to have my content linked<br \/>\n(in one way or another) to many of the top 50 sites on the Internet.<br \/>\nThat&#8217;s why I like using sites\/programs like Blogspot\/Blogger,<br \/>\nYouTube, Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, WordPress, Wiki, Craiglist&#8230;<br \/>\netc.<\/p>\n<p>Try linking\/connecting your site\/content to all these top-ranked<br \/>\nsites in the world and you will see a marked improvement in both<br \/>\nyour traffic and sales. You must place your content into the whole<br \/>\nmix of what&#8217;s happening on the web.<\/p>\n<p>Getting your content into these places\/sites is not difficult. In fact<br \/>\nit is extremely simple &#8211; you can even place your content there yourself<br \/>\nor have your visitors place it there for you.<\/p>\n<p>Can&#8217;t count how many times I have told you about the free AddThis.com<br \/>\nbutton which lets your visitors bookmark your content in all of the<br \/>\nabove sites FOR YOU. This button and others like it, actually works<br \/>\nif you have quality, interesting content to share&#8230; you will also<br \/>\nsee a rise in your rankings because the search engines are paying<br \/>\nspecial attention of what content gets repeatedly bookmarked by ordinary<br \/>\nweb users.<\/p>\n<p>Using this social bookmark button or others like it is a simple way<br \/>\nto boost your traffic and sales.<\/p>\n<p>Are you using it?<span><\/span> <span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;..<br \/>\nOther Ways Of Boosting Traffic And Sales<br \/>\n&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;..  <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>When I need to get more traffic and sales&#8230; here are some of the<br \/>\nthings I do:<span><\/span> <span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>1. Write Quality Articles &amp; Distribute Them All Over The Web<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Doesn&#8217;t quite work as well as it once did but for popular articles<br \/>\nthat get picked up and placed on countless related sites, article<br \/>\nmarketing is still one of my most effective ways of getting traffic<br \/>\nand sales. I mainly use Ezinearticles, Phantomwriters, iSnare,<br \/>\nSubmityourarticle&#8230; for getting my articles out there.<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n2. Put Out Press Releases<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I am seeing great short term and long term results by using Press Releases.<br \/>\nThey have become one of my major marketing tools of the moment,<br \/>\nI am mainly using PRWeb but it is rather expensive. So if you&#8217;re on a<br \/>\ntight budget, you can try the many free press release sites such as<br \/>\nwww.1888pressrelease.com<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n3. Increase My PPC Advertising Budget in Google Adwords, Yahoo and<br \/>\nMicrosoft.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>When I want targeted traffic fast &#8211; I simply buy it! But be careful<br \/>\nbecause you have to know exactly what you&#8217;re doing with PPC or you can<br \/>\nlose a lot of money fast. So do your homework first.<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n4. Release a New Video On YouTube<\/b><\/p>\n<p>YouTube is a great place for getting more traffic coming to your<br \/>\nsite or sites. I like doing &#8220;how-to&#8221; videos and offering free guides<br \/>\nto build up my contact list of interested customers. The sale is in<br \/>\nthe follow-up.<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n5. Post More Entries In My Different Blogs Around The Web <\/b><\/p>\n<p>I have blogs with Blogger, WordPress, LiveJournal, Bloglines&#8230; this<br \/>\nalways brings in immediate traffic to my sites and it is extremely<br \/>\neasy to do. Just make sure the content is of high quality and it will<br \/>\nget picked up or linked to on other related blogs.<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n6. Create More Keyword Targeted Content For My Many Different Sites<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This is a more &#8220;long-term&#8221; solution for me, but this is the most effective<br \/>\nway to get good quality traffic, especially from Google. Until Bing\/Yahoo<br \/>\nenters the picture, Google simply supplies the most search traffic on the<br \/>\nweb so gear your sites towards Google for the immediate future.<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n7. Release a new viral eBook, Report or Guide <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Many times I even create a new website to go along with these new guides.<br \/>\nThe most vital part of selling on the web is that you must never play the<br \/>\npushy-salesman role; but rather be a helpful guide who buyers turn to for<br \/>\nhelp and information. Learn the art of the &#8220;Pre-Sell&#8221; and you will<br \/>\nsucceed online. Let the real selling be done by your affiliate partners.<br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n8. Send Out Newsletters to all my Different Contact Lists<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I run many newsletters and follow-up programs; it is still one<br \/>\nof the best ways to get repeat traffic to my sites. Sometimes<br \/>\nI wonder the wisdom of passing along the marketing tactics and<br \/>\ntechniques I use to create profitable sites since I am really giving<br \/>\nmy competition some valuable information that can be used against<br \/>\nme. But I have over-ruled myself and only keep the very vital<br \/>\nspecific stuff relating directly to my sites secret.<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n9. Do Joint Projects With My Online Contacts and Fellow Marketers<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The more you help others, the more you will succeed. This is also<br \/>\nthe main reason I keep writing this newsletter, I have been tempted<br \/>\nmany times to shut it down because of what I discussed<br \/>\nabove &#8211; information can be used against you, especially in very<br \/>\ncompetitive niches. However, I get more good results than bad by<br \/>\nhelping other people succeed online!<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n10. Use Your Site&#8217;s Raw Traffic Logs and Stats<\/b><\/p>\n<p>When I get some spare time &#8211; I spend it digging through my raw<br \/>\ntraffic log stats. I hunt down lucrative long-tail keyword phrases<br \/>\nthat are already bringing in some traffic and sales. I then boost my<br \/>\nrankings for these keyword phrases by placing them in article titles,<br \/>\nblog posts, etc. and linking that content to my ranking page. By closely<br \/>\nmonitoring what keywords are bringing in the traffic and sales&#8230;<br \/>\nI can adjust my marketing to rank higher for those keywords, mainly<br \/>\nin Google.<\/p>\n<p>My content is ranked for thousands of keywords but the real trick is finding<br \/>\nthe profitable ones and building traffic for those specific keywords and<br \/>\nboosting your sales. Close examination and tracking of my site&#8217;s traffic<br \/>\nlogs will offer up the real jewels in the crown. The same probably applies<br \/>\nto your site or sites. Go find those long-tail keywords and exploit them.<\/p>\n<p>I hope these tips help you in some way.
