Truth be told, for years I sat around and waited for things
\nto happen with my first site which I had placed on the web.
\nI did get some traffic and Google did index my site, so too,
\ndid all the other search engines.<\/p>\n
However, little else happened, sure I made a few sales but
\nnothing really to get excited about especially when you
\nconsidered all the time and money I had put into this project.
\nActually, I was about to give up on all this web foolishness
\nwhen something changed in me and I came to the realization that
\nnothing simply comes to you; instead, you have to go out and
\nget it.<\/p>\n
You have to fight for it!<\/p>\n
The spark for me was seeing other sites, some much more
\ncrappier than mine, ranking high in Google. What were they
\ndoing that I wasn’t doing? And the answer was quite simple –
\nthey were aggressively promoting their sites in Google and
\non the web. They weren’t just sitting around and waiting for
\nthings to happen, they were making things happen.<\/p>\n
The gloves came off and I got down to work. And that as they
\nsay has made all the difference in the world.<\/p>\n

As any webmaster will tell you, getting your site noticed and indexed
\nby Google is extremely important to your site’s success. Google controls
\nabout 70% or more of all the search engine traffic on the web so getting
\nyour content listed and ranked high by Google generally means tons of free
\nquality traffic flowing to your site.<\/p>\n
Most webmasters are satisfied to take a passive role when it comes
\nto promoting their sites within Google. They are glad to get their
\nsite\/content indexed by Google and then patiently sit around waiting
\nfor the slow dribble of search engine traffic to come their way.<\/p>\n
However, there is another group of webmasters and online marketers
\nwho aggressively market their sites and content to Google. They just
\ndon’t stand around and wait for things to happen, they make things happen.
\nThey spend their valuable time targeting Google with a steady flow
\nof quality content and links. They make sure Google is constantly
\nnoticing and indexing their site.<\/p>\n
Now we are talking about “totally legit” white hat SEO tactics
\nwhich will get your site noticed by Google. Aggressive tactics which
\nfairly puts your content into the whole mix of online interaction,
\nso that your content or site can’t be ignored by Google or any other
\nsearch engine for that matter.<\/p>\n
First, you have probably already realized that social network
\nsites are quickly turning into the traffic hubs of the web. It’s
\nwhere the people go and it’s where you will find them. The search engines
\nobviously know this fact and are quickly indexing all these interactions,
\nlinks and content. Savvy webmasters are taking advantage of these
\nsocial bookmark programs to promote their own sites.<\/p>\n
You must place your site into all this social interaction, it must
\nbe a part of all these traffic hubs. You must create profiles in
\nall these sites and actively promote your content. Do you have

You must create profiles and constantly submit content to these
\nsites with links back to your site. You must interact and place
\nyour site into the whole social mix of what is happening – Google
\nconstantly spiders these social networks and indexes the contents
\nand links. Have your site in all these places and Google will also
\nbe constantly indexing your content.<\/p>\n
Make sure you make it extremely easy for your visitors to BookMark
\nyour content in all of these social bookmarking sites. One effective
\nand easy way to do this is to use the free AddThis button for all
\nyour content. Your visitors can bookmark your content for you.
\nLikewise, also make sure visitors can easily Tweet your content.<\/p>\n
Remember most of these sites are high PR6, PR7 or PR8 so Google
\nspiders then more frequently than lower PageRank sites. Just using
\na site like Blogger\/Blogspot (which Google owns) will get your
\ncontent listed in Google within minutes of posting.<\/p>\n
Savvy online marketers also know Google is now more prominently listing
\nNews Items, Product Listings and Videos in their SERPs or Search Results
\nfor the most popular and lucrative keyword phrases on the web,
\nso these marketers aggressively use News Items\/Press Releases
\nand Videos to get Google to index and rank their content. They
\nalso optimize their product listings so Google indexes these as
\nwell.<\/p>\n
These marketers make sure their site\/content is featured on
\nGoogle News. One easy way to do this is thru Press Releases
\nand another way is to get your content placed on sites which
\nGoogle News uses to gather material. For example, you can use a
\nsite like American Chronicle where items are regularly picked
\nup by Google News.<\/p>\n
Another simple way to promote your site\/content to Google is
\nto use the major free article directories on the web. Article
\nmarketing is not as effective as it once was in Google, but
\nit still works. Get your site’s content and articles featured
\non the major article networks such as Ezinearticles, GoArticles,
\niSnare, SelfGrowth, Buzzle, Article Alley, Ideamarketers…
\nand the list goes on.<\/p>\n
Another venue is online forums related to your site’s topic,
\nso create profiles in these and promote your site. Google pays
\nspecial attention to this user-generated content and is constantly
\nindexing it. We are not talking about comment spam but helpful
\nposts with quality content. For example, Yahoo! Answers would
\nbe an excellent example of this marketing tactic.<\/p>\n
As you can see from above, many webmasters aggressively promote
\ntheir site\/content to Google. They use simple, yet persistent
\nlink building with quality link bait, articles, reports, posts…
\nto make sure Google is regularly indexing their site. And to
\nbe even more effective they tie in all their site’s important
\nkeywords to all this content and links. They make sure Google is
\nmaking the connection between these keywords and their sites.<\/p>\n
Of course, the real key to effective online marketing is tracking.
\nYou must track everything, including how well Google is noticing
\nyour site and\/or content. One simple way, besides closely studying
\nyour own website log stats, is to create Google Alerts for anything
\nyou want to track, including your site.<\/p>\n

Google will send you email notifications whenever it indexes another
\npage anywhere on the web containing your site’s URL. This way you can

\nthat you are targeting. Try to get three or four emails a day from
\nGoogle Alerts saying your content has been indexed and you will
\ntruly have Google on Speed… well you get the picture.<\/p>\n
