Get Quality Backlinks With Real Link Builder

Don’t know about you but for me as a webmaster and marketer
my biggest problem is finding quality one-way backlinks.
For years, article marketing worked perfectly for me
because there were so few people doing it.

What do you mean?

Well, when I joined Ezinearticles.com, the top article directory on
the web, I was member number 1561. Now there are over 370,000
members or writers submitting articles.

That’s a lot of competition.

Your articles get quickly lost in the crowd and your articles just
don’t get the placements on quality sites like they once did. Now, I still
do article marketing, but I have turned to other ways to build quality
backlinks.

One way is to find quality keyword-related sites/blogs/forums and join in
the conversation by adding your views, opinions and your information.
True comment link-building is a quick and easy way to get good backlinks.

We are not talking about comment spam where robots go in and plant
links on related blogs in the form of comments. Please don’t spam,
it will only be taken down by quality sites anyway.

Add helpful comments and information that site visitors can use
and appreciate. And the webmaster or owner of the blog or site will let
you link back to your content.

Why?

Because “comments” or rather “quality comments” plays an important role
in that site or blog’s rankings – especially in Google. For example,
I have several YouTube channels, the ones getting the most comments and
feedback get listed higher in the rankings. Search engines want to
see real people interacting, they don’t want to see manufactured
links.

Real people, real comments.

I also believe linking out to quality sites is just as important
as those sites linking in – especially in Google. You should have
your site linking out to the major players in your niche. Some SEO
experts will say this is only giving PR to your competition but it’s
a good trade-off. You show your site is connected to the important
players in your niche.

Another issue is the “follow” or “no-follow” tags assigned to these
outgoing links. Most experts will tell you to only get the “follow”
links so the PageRank is passed along to your site. I am not so sure
about this.

At least in some cases, YouTube has “no-follow” but having your
links on YouTube do improve your rankings in Google. But then again,
YouTube is owned by Google so that might be an exception to the
rule.

Anyway, in general having quality backlinks won’t hurt your rankings,
it will improve them. Here’s a handy piece of Free Linking Software
from Neil Shearing.

It’s called “Real Link Finder” and it will quickly help you find
countless blogs and sites where you can add your comments and links.

Just Google to find it.

You will have to give an email address in order to get this but
otherwise it is free.

Should You Use URL Shorteners?

BWMagic’s Internet Marketing News

Should You Use URL Shorteners?

Sorry about last week, the Google URL shortener link
wasn’t working for 3 or 4 days, believe it is working now.
Thanks to all the subscribers who alerted me about this
issue. In the past, I had been using bit.ly but had switched
to Goo.gl, well – because it’s Google. And everything works
better with Google, this is the first time something I used
from Google had not worked as planned.

It just wasn’t my links, none of the links with Goo.gl were
working. No big loss, unless you were linking your Black Friday
& Cyber Monday traffic thru these shorteners. Ouch.

But this brings up the whole question of whether or not you
should use a link shortener?

A URL link shortener works by redirecting your shorter link
to the one you have entered into their database. If this is
a permanent 301 redirect, then your SEO benefits should past
through to your longer link. No harm is done. But if the shortening
service uses a 302 temporary link then SEO is not passed thru
to your longer link since the search engines only read this
link as temporary.

Both bit.ly and goo.gl uses 301 redirects so they are SEO
friendly, if they’re working!

I only started using those link shorteners because of Twitter
which only gives you 140 characters to make your point. These
shorteners are also good for sharing and spreading your links
around the web. However, in one way using a URL shortener is
not a smart marketing move because you are giving up control
of your link – putting it in someone else’s hands, in this
case Google’s.

If it goes down, or they decide not to link to your content
for some reason, you’re in trouble. The same goes for bit.ly,
they are in control of your links. Maybe it doesn’t count
so much if it is a general link, but if you have an affiliate
link in there, you can’t change or alter it.

One of the unwritten rules of Internet Marketing, always control
your links and route them through your own domain which you
control. Especially if you place these links into viral ebooks,
articles, videos… make sure you are linking through a URL
on your site. This way you can easily alter the link if
anything changes.

I like using the simple Loading Page, given out by Clickbank
some time ago but later discover it is a “refresh” method which
is not good for SEO.:

Of course, you have to take out the () and place your link in
the three places, then save this HTML page on your site’s server.
Place your keyworded title for this page in this URL, so you would
have something like: http://yoursite.com/mainkeywords.htm

The above coding was mainly designed so no one could change/steal
your affiliate links, but it can be used to link to any page on the
web or on your site. Instead of linking directly to pages on the web,
you route them all through your site. This way you have control and
can change them at any time. Extremely useful if you place your links
in viral ebooks, videos, articles… once these links get out there,
you can’t take them back but if you’re routing them through your site,
you will always control those links and can change them at will.

It’s up to yourself whether or not you use these URL shorteners,
but if you decide to use them, just make sure the service you pick
uses 301 redirects so you don’t lose any SEO benefits.

What Is LinkBait & How Do You Use it?

BWMagic’s Internet Marketing News

What Is LinkBait & How Do You Use it?

If you have a web site you will probably already know getting
quality one-way link is the key to getting more traffic and
higher rankings, but getting those links is easier said than done.
However, there is one very effective technique which has proven
the test of time and one you should be using.

We are talking about LinkBait.

Simply put: linkbait is any content which is so intriguing/informative/useful
other webmasters and surfers will gladly share it with their
friends and colleagues. Actually, linkbait can be many things:

– an informative article

– a useful software program

– a handy ebook or report

– a YouTube video

– a special seo tool

– an amusing blog post

or just a well constructed web page which your visitors find
especially helpful or interesting.

Whenever I think of LinkBait, I always compare it to “word of mouth”
advertising. Something that is spread virally throughout the
community and in this case, on the web. Never underestimate the
true marketing power of this kind of advertising and promotion.

From my own experiences, I first discovered the instant overnight
power when someone bookmarked one of my web pages in Digg and
it landed on the first page. I received over 70,000 visitors
in one day and gathered numerous quality one-way links from
around the web.

While these visitors were temporary and relatively “useless”
– the seo efforts were long-lasting and very beneficial.
No visitor to your site is useless but these visitors were
not my usual keyword driven traffic which buy my affiliate
products or sign up to my lists.

However this incident showed me why using LinkBait is a very
effective way to get traffic. And since that time I try to
place the simple “Addthis” button on all my content – to easily
let my visitors bookmark the material in all the social bookmarking
sites.

This is an easy way to make all your pages LinkBait.

Another important thing about using LinkBait – Google loves it.
Mainly because it fits in with Google’s original ranking philosophy
and system where web users vote democratically on which content should
be ranked the highest.

It is content recommended by other web users and content which
they find helpful, informative or entertaining.

Matt Cutts explains and gives an example in a YouTube video
which in itself is a form of linkbait. You can view the
video here to get more ideas on this topic:

In addition, for some time I have been including in these
emails some links to helpful SEO tools. This is an obvious
form of LinkBait.

Here’s another helpful SEO Optimization Tool which helps you write
or correct your HTML code to better rank in the search engines.

If you’re not already using some forms of LinkBait – give it a try
and see the results for yourself.
