Double Barrel Web Marketing Tactics: Writing Content Which
Will Rank High In The Search Engines & Pull In The Sales

Creating top ranked web pages which convert…

If you go the SEO route you will have to write web content which
will rank high in all the search engines. Plus, if you’re into web
marketing, that very same content will have to convert into sales or
leads in order for you to make a profit. It’s what I like to call
my “Double Barrel Web Tactics” and I have been using these simple
tactics to earn a full-time income from the net for over 5 or 6 years.

Not that that’s any kind of feat to brag about since countless individuals
are doing the same thing and probably doing a much better job at it. But
I have picked up a few tricks over the years which had helped me along
the way, one of the most important is writing top ranking web pages which
convert into sales.

Create SEO Empowered Webpages

First, in order to get those pages to the top of the search engines,
especially Google, I follow some simple SEO rules. They can be summed
up as such:

– Concentrate all the content around one central keyword phrase for each web page

– Include this keyword phrase in the Title, Meta Tags, Headline and in the URL

– Place this keyword phrase and variations of it throughout the page

– Have a column of related keyword links on each page

– Have very simple site construction with all links no more than 3 clicks from the homepage

– Build valuable one-way links to this page from keyword rated sites around the web

– Use Twitter, Facebook, Youtube… to promote each page

Choose Your Keyword Battles

Further more, you must use keyword phrases which are competitive for your site.
Picking long-tail keywords which have less traffic but still bring in sales,
is one way of doing this. Targeting really competitive keywords is rather pointless
unless you have unlimited funds and resources to build links and/or buy PPC traffic.
The average webmaster is better off choosing keyword phrases where he/she knows
they can compete and rank high in the search engines.

One good site which will tell how much competition your chosen keywords will have
is Google’s Keyword Tool. It will also give you some estimation of the amount of
traffic each keyword phrase receives each month. All valuable information to help you
pick your keyword battles.

Writing Webpages Which Convert

For me this is the most difficult part of earning an online income – writing web
copy which converts into a sale or a lead. Keep in mind, you don’t always have to
sell something, many companies will pay you 10s of dollars just to supply them
with a lead or potential paying customer. I sometimes find this is much easier
to do than making an actual sale.

My online marketing tactics are very basic – I give my visitor a strong incentive
or reason to buy from my site. I find using simple discounts, coupons and free trials
to be one of the most effective ways to make a sale or capture a lead for the companies
and products I am promoting. Giving those online shoppers or customers 10%, 20%, 50%
or more OFF will usually convert well. So too is offering bonuses, discounts and coupons
if they buy from your links. For leads, offering a Free 30 Day Trial works the best.

But never forget, visitors who use your site also want information about the products
or services they’re buying. Giving them clear unbiased information will go a long way
in capturing a lead or sale. Providing customer reviews and feedback is another way to
increase your conversions. So too are customer testimonials and video reviews.

Another tactic I use is picking keywords that have a high probability of commercial
intent which is more likely to bring in revenue. Just finding those customers and
visitors who are in the right mind-set to buy is the key. Targeting certain keywords
such as best deals, discounts, coupons… and targeting certain niche markets such
as wedding gifts, corporate gifts, holiday gifts… have done very well for me.
People are actually searching for a special gift and are ready to purchase.

One handy tool for determining the online commercial intention of your keywords
is Microsoft’s Adcenter Laps. It will give you a good starting point for choosing
which keywords and niche markets you should target with your web pages.

Online marketing is not some mysterious formula, it is merely a double-barrel process
of keeping all your SEO ranking factors in order and targeting customers when they’re
ready to buy. You build up your rankings with quality one-way links while offering the
resulting traffic valuable information and a good solid reason to buy from your web
site or page. Using special deals, discounts and coupons will go a long way in boosting
your conversion rates. So too, will targeting certain keywords that have great online
commercial intention or potential, such as the gift niche markets. Try this simple Dual
marketing tactic and watch both your traffic and sales increase.

My First Apple Product

BWMagic’s Internet Marketing News

My First Apple Product

And now for something a little different…

I am currently on vacation. If you can call it that because with
Internet marketing and making your living online, you’re on permanent
vacation, at least to your neighbors. They never see you go to work
and they still look at you kinda funny when they see you buying all
the latest toys. While I take time off, I always like to check out
the latest gadgets and gizmos on the market.

Last week I finally caved in and bought my first Apple product – the iPod Touch.
I was so impressed with this little contraction, less than a week later I
found myself making a 10 kilometer walk to my favorite tech store to buy
the iPad. Certifiable, or what?

Don’t know why, but I never bought into the whole Apple/Steve Jobs storyline.
Way too much manufactured coolness for my liking, besides Apple has always
seemed to me like the only high-tech company which has evolved into a
cult-like status. Something very unhealthy about the way Apple users fuss
over those little shiny silver objects – just not right.

However, after buying the iPod Touch, I completely understood why Apple can
draw such devotion from its die-hard fans. The Touch had me at “Slide to Unlock”.
The simple intuitive nature of this device is what finally dragged me into the
cheering section. I immediately liked the way it fit and felt in my hand on
one of my many daily walks.

My main purpose for buying the iPod was to have a Walkman (anyone remember those)
for walks and this Apple product does the job perfectly. It was worth the $200
price tag for me, but I am custom to spending ridiculous amounts of money on
gadgets and gizmos… having just bought a 3 grand Samsung 3D TV, the iPod was
rather cheap. This is for both business and pleasure. I am constantly writing
about tech products and examining the “Real McCoys” is part of the process.
I recently created a new site on 3D because I believe over the next few years
it has a slight chance of entering the mainstream – especially in 3D gaming.

But the iPod is not only for music, I can surf the web with the Wi-Fi function,
but the small screen makes scrolling almost impossible. At least, for someone
on the wrong side of 50, who’s eyesight is no way near 20/20 the iPod can be
a real challenge. The typing function alone takes some getting used to but
the “texting thumbs” generation would probably have a field with this device.

Besides the music and video, the iPod has some handy features which are very
convenient to have, especially the email, calendar, calculator, maps and weather.
Not to mention the App Store which features hundreds of thousands of applications
you can download both free and ones that you will have to pay for.

Overall, I was impressed with the first Apple product which I had bought.
Of course, once I had the iPod Touch, buying the iPad was the next logical
step for me. I simply had to have more viewing area and the iPad is simply
the iPod expanded to the power of 10. Some funny comparisons to aroused
naughty bits come readily to mind, but we won’t go there!

With the iPad, I knew exactly what I was buying but there was no reason I
could justify the purchase except for my poor eyesight. For after all the
iPad is the best useless thing I have ever bought, not counting the 3D TV
– which is still waiting for more 3D content to hit the market. The iPad is
totally puzzling, it is not a computer so you really can’t do much with it
except surf the web, and even that is rather difficult and takes some getting
used to, especially on web pages with many sub-menus. Of course, you can
download and read books but I haven’t tried that yet – don’t know if I can
ever get used to reading a book on an electronic device. I am purely “old school”
and I still like the heavyweight of Stephen King’s “Under The Dome” in my hands.
Thank You!

The iPad is rather useless but totally entertaining. I like the feel of it
and simple tasks like email and simple web surfing are rather enjoyable.
So too is watching videos, especially YouTube ones. Can’t wait to further
explore this handy little device and write more about it.

I believe my main beef with Apple is the lack of a search engine. Apple and
Apple products do need their own search engine, one that is different from Google
or Bing. We need something to replace Yahoo… Apple fanatics should demand
nothing less.

Obviously, if Apple wants to play with the Big Boys and have any kind of
a real stake in the web of the future, it simply has to develop its own
search engine, sooner rather than later. From a marketing perspective,
why Apple hasn’t developed its own search engine to go along with its
countless millions of devices, is totally perplexing. Talk about a
missed opportunity.

Just think about it… Apple has its own operating systems, computers, browser…
having its own search engine would be the next logical step for a company so
controlling as Apple. It’s almost like a running punch line which never comes,
I keep expecting Steve Jobs to stand on that stage and quietly open up an
Apple Search engine to loud applause for its many cult-like followers in
the audience. But the punch line never comes…

And if it doesn’t come, the last joke will definitely be on Apple,
regardless of how many revolutionary products they have in the pipeline.
Mainly because without its own search engine Apple will never reach its
full potential. It will also have to play second fiddle to Google and Microsoft.
In the long run, that’s not going to be any fun or even very profitable for Apple.

Is The Web Marketing Lifestyle Worth It?

BWMagic’s Internet Marketing News

Is The Web Marketing Lifestyle Worth It?

Making a living online is not easy to do but it
can be done. Here’s my story and what I did first…

No matter how long I do this web marketing stuff, it never fails to amaze me.
Perhaps, what sticks out the most, is the fact that people can actually make
a living online. It is still a fairly new concept.

We never know what life has in store for us, if you told me ten years ago
that I would become a full-time web marketer with 9 or 10 websites I would
have probably asked you: What’s a web site?

Today, young people have grown up with the web and it has always been there
for them. But older folks like me experienced the birth and growth of the
web in the ’90s and have a fuller understanding of this new creature.

I live in a very remote part of the world and if you go back 10 or 15 years,
the whole concept of the Internet was totally foreign. We simply didn’t have
access to this new world of computers, servers and wired connections. When we
finally got web dial-up, it was extremely slow but we did become connected
and I started exploring this new world at full-throttle.

Coming from a background in art and art education, I was blessed with some
graphic design skills which proved very helpful when I started to create my
web sites from scratch. As an artist, I was used to learning new techniques
on my own which also helped me tackle the Internet. Those skills were greatly
needed because I even had to learn how to write HTML code in order to create
those sites, something I still do today, even though we have many software
programs that can do it for you.

Since I had to do all the coding myself, I kept my sites very simple and
started re-using templates of pages which proved successful. I believe one
of the keys to succeeding online is to find that one thing that works and
keep duplicating the process. Once you have made that first dollar, just
keep repeating the process until you make another dollar.

Once you have created one site that’s bringing in a profit, design other
sites that do the same.

Even though I have an art background, I don’t let fancy graphics or too much
design interfere with the main objective of my webpages – ranking high for
my chosen keywords in all the major search engines. You must focus on those
keyword rankings because that’s what will bring in the targeted traffic and
sales.

Keywords That Sell

You really have to find the keywords which produce the sales. This is easier
than you think. One handy tool is from Microsoft of all places, but it has
proven very helpful, it’s called:

Detecting Online Commercial Intention

This tool will tell you if your site or keywords has economic potential
on the web.

Another Major Key For Me Was Google.

Truth be told I didn’t really get anywhere until my keywords and sites
started ranking high in Google. Like I have told you a million times,
I have no magic formula – just steady article writing and promotion,
plus creating valuable content which web users need and want.

These simple techniques can work for anyone. I recently helped my brother
set up sites and a year & half in – his sites are selling something every day.
These sales numbers are only small but all he has to do is keep repeating
what he’s doing and the revenue will increase. If you’re curious, here is
one of his sites: Blu-ray Dvd Players

Like me, for him Google is also the key, getting those high “first page”
rankings will bring in the traffic and sales. And like me, he started with
the basics, concentrating on Google keywords and starting with this simple:

Google Keyword Tool

Once you get started with this online marketing stuff, it can become addictive,
but addictive in a good way. Learning how to make extra money in your spare time
is never really a bad thing. Working full-time on the web and from the comfort
of your home is not a bad thing. Most of all, being your own boss and answering
to no one is a very good thing. There is no life like it.

Like I said at the beginning, making a living from the web will totally amaze you.
Well, at least it amazed me, especially when you’re doing other things and then
you check your stats to discover you have made money. Once your sites and marketing
are set up, it runs automatically 24/7, earning you revenue whether you’re
actually working at it or you’re on vacation.

Or doing anything which humans can possibly do…

That part still puts a smile on my face every time… that and the fact because
it’s web based, I can work and live just about anywhere I want. That sense of
total freedom can’t be matched unless you win the lotto or something.
