Steve Jobs – 101 Reactions To His Death

Steve Jobs

Usually, when someone in the public eye passes away, someone
you didn’t know personally – it rarely affects you. But for
me, Steve Jobs’ death on Wednesday really touched me.

As Ashton Kutcher tweeted:

‘I never thought I could be so busted up about the loss of
someone I never met.’

Don’t exactly know why, but having watched most of his product
launches and presentations, it felt like you knew him personally
– the sign of a great marketer.

Maybe the real reason lies in the products Apple gave us under
his guidance such as the iPod Touch, which I carry religiously
on my daily hikes. Or like the iPad which has become my constant
companion as I watch TV and surf the net at the same time.

It’s really strange how these Apple products are connected
directly to Steve Jobs… you really feel they are his products.
Perhaps, because they actually are his inventions – his ideas, his
vision and his direction.

Strange as it may seem, it is as if Steve Jobs not only gave
the world his great revolutionary products, but it feels like
he gave them personally to you. That’s why so many people around
the world are mourning his death and our loss. Including me!

Other Reactions…

The Jobs family: “In his public life, Steve was known as a visionary;
in his private life, he cherished his family. We are thankful to the many
people who have shared their wishes and prayers during the last year of
Steve’s illness.”

Apple Co-founder Steve Wozniak: “It’s like the world lost a John Lennon –
I mean Steve was clearly the most outstanding business thinker and almost
everybody high up in the technology business recognized that somehow he
had the ability to think out new ways of doing things, not just ways to
improve what we have (do a better version of something) but do it in a
totally different way that the world would swing towards.”

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates: “Steve and I first met nearly 30 years
ago, and have been colleagues, competitors and friends over the course
of more than half our lives. The world rarely sees someone who has had
the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt
for many generations to come.”

Google CEO Larry Page: “He was a great man with incredible achievements
and amazing brilliance. He always seemed to be able to say in very few words
what you actually should have been thinking before you thought it. His focus
on the user experience above all else has always been an inspiration to me.”
