BWMagic’s Internet Marketing News

Should You Use Brad Callen’s SEO LinkVine?

I thought I would tell you about the latest “link building”
program from Brad Callen. I have not “tested” this product
but thought I would pass it along anyway.

Mainly because it is coming from Brad Callen – I have used
some of Brad’s excellent SEO products for years – mainly
Keyword Elite and SEO Elite. I can also remember around 6 or
7 years ago, I was getting nowhere on the web until I stumbled
upon a free SEO course offered by Brad.

The simple SEO tips in that course put me on the right track
and I haven’t looked back. Perhaps the greatest thing he showed
me was how to use keywords to get all that free organic traffic
flowing, especially from Google.

Brad Callen knows SEO and is one of the top SEO experts on the web.

SEO LinkVine is an ongoing link building program with a monthly
fee where you submit your articles to thousands of blogs.
In the process, you get all those “one-way” links back to
your site or content – boosting your search engine rankings.

The only reason I have not used this program is because I
do much of the same thing for free by using Google Alerts,
which gives me related sites and blogs connected to my keywords
where I can place my one-way backlinks.

————————————————————————————–

In a nutshell, here is how it works:

You create keyword alerts in Google Alerts for your site’s
main keywords. Then as new pages are indexed in Google related
to your keywords, Google sends you an email with links to
these newly created pages.

I go to some of the links which Google gives me and using
my SEOQuake Toolbar on my FireFox browser I can quickly check
out the SEO checkpoints – PageRank, Alexa Traffic, Pages Indexed,
SEMRush Traffic Worth… of each page/site/blog I am considering.

If all of the above checks out, then I like personally inspecting
the blog/site AND the quality of the content on the page.
Within seconds you can tell if it’s good quality or not… if I
like what I am seeing, I add a comment or submit an article
- all with one-way backlinks to my site.

The only problem with going the Google Alerts route, it is
very time-consuming. It takes a lot of time checking out
all these blogs and content. But it also has its strong points -
I have discovered by personally checking out the content,
I stay on top of all the latest information in my niche.

That’s why it’s key for you to pick a niche that interests
you and it won’t seem like work since you’re having fun learning
new things about a favorite interest or hobby.

————————————————————————————–

Brad’s SEO LinkVine will rise or fall on the quality of the
network of blogs where the articles are submitted. Needless
to say, there are a lot of crappy blogs out there, and by
crappy I mean “blogs with no unique content”.

No doubt, Brad and his team have checked out these blogs
and hand-picked them. Still quality will still be the
main issue for me.

But if free time is a problem and you simply can’t spare the time
to check out all the places where your articles and backlinks
are placed. Then LinkVine may be a program for you.

Over the years, I have used and paid for many article
submission services. I have been using “SubmitYourArticle”
for years and find the service very good.

I also use “ThePhantomWriters” to submit my most important
articles and links. I also use “Isnare” with very good results.

Plus, I can’t remember how many $360 PRweb press releases
I have put out… but they’re worth every penny of it because
of the backlinks you get from high ranked related websites.

Anyway, I am giving you some options, things I do to build
my own one-way backlinks. Not ruling out Brad’s LinkVine…
it could be a very good option, especially if you don’t
have the time and especially if the quality of the blogs
are of a high standard.

So LinkVine could also be an option for you and if you
do sign on, make sure you keep checking the quality of
the blogs where your articles/links are placed.

You can check out Brad Callen’s one-way link building
program here:

BWMagic’s Internet Marketing News

Google Gives More Search Data To Webmasters

You have probably heard about this already but it is very important,
especially if you’re like me and into search engine marketing.
Google thru its Webmaster Tools program is now sharing very detailed
search data for each individual search query made to your site.

What it means is this:

Say you have a site on “golfing” or “golf”.

You can now go to your Webmaster Tools account and click on a keyword
query such as “best golf clubs” which web surfers would use to find your
site.

Google will give you a break-down of its own search data:

- number of impressions

- your clickthrough rate (how many surfers click thru to your site)

- list of your site’s pages that were linked to in the results

Assuming all these numbers and data are accurate (there is a big discussion
going on right now, whether or not Google’s data is totally accurate), it will
give webmasters and marketers some useful information. It can help you improve
your conversion rate to get more visitors – which is the object of the game.

But a word of caution, don’t take anything coming from Google or any other
site on the web as gospel. I always like to compare any data with my own
web stats and web logs… always make it a practice to cross-reference your
important stats with other sources.

Besides using your own site stats and Webmasters Tools, use Google Analytics,
use Alexa data, use your Adwords and your Adsense data… plus all your performance
reports from all your different affiliate networks you’re using like Commission
Junction.

By checking all these different sources, you will get a more comprehensive
view of how well your site is doing in regards to traffic and your visitors.

Regardless of how accurate it is , this new search data coming from Google is
well worth checking out and analyzing. Mainly because just increasing your
conversion numbers by a few notches can mean many more visitors to your site.

If you want to find out more about this topic and what it can mean for your
site, I suggest you check out this great page on WebProNews here:

If you’re not using Google’s Webmaster Tools, I more strongly suggest
you get it here:

Some Thoughts Upon Getting My OWN SiteSell Sub-domain

by @ 9:52 am. Filed under Site Build It

SiteSell

Some Thoughts Upon Getting My OWN SiteSell Sub-domain

I have promoted Ken Evoy’s SiteSell hosting/marketing system for years.
It is a marketing system I believe in and promote whenever I get the chance.
Sure, it’s an affiliate program and some people say you’re only promoting
it because you can make a few pennies doing it.

However, what those same people don’t realize, I am a full-time online
marketer and have been for over 5 or 6 years. I can promote any affiliate
product and probably make a few pennies doing it. But I have learned over
the years it is much, much easier to promote quality programs and quality
products on the web.

SiteSell and SiteBuildIt fit that bill perfectly.

Certain products just sell themselves and SiteSell’s SiteBuildIt (SBI) has
been one of my best affiliate products. People just don’t buy this complete hosting
and marketing package once. They keep buying it year after year, once they
realize what a quality program it is and the benefits it can bring them.

From the beginning, besides the professional quality, what impressed me most
about Ken Evoy and SiteSell was the sheer amount of marketing knowledge and
tools which comes with this product. SiteSell is a whole marketing package
and it is this total package which really caught my eye years ago.

Most of all, it is the whole community which surrounds SBI which makes
it so appealing, especially for the beginning webmaster or online marketer
who needs a little help along the way. It is the forum connected to this
community which is SiteSell’s biggest asset. Knowledge is everything on
the web and you won’t find a group more willing to share than SBIers.

Internet marketing is a very complex subject and getting more complex
as the web evolves… just imagine a few years ago we didn’t even have
sites like FaceBook, Twitter, YouTube… keeping up with all the latest
information and software programs you need to successfully run a modern
website boggles the mind.

Ken Evoy’s whole marketing system keeps you in the know. His team does
all the hard work and members reap the benefits. As new hosting or marketing
requirements come online, SiteSell is right there – offering its members
the latest programs and tools they can use to stay on top of it all.

Over the years, one of the biggest complaints I hear about SBI or SiteSell,
it COSTS more than other hosting on the web.

Yes, you can get much cheaper hosting from other places, but you won’t
be able to get all the programs and software which comes with a SBI site.
Nor will you be able to get the information you need to get you started
and the information you need to keep you progressing.

SBI supplies all of the above. It checks all your online marketing boxes.

If you’re serious about starting an online website or business, you want
a complete hosting/marketing program which will deliver all the goods.
SBI and Ken Evoy does that. Plain and simple.

Actually, the only other complaint I hear from people who I refer
to SiteSell, there’s just too much information. The sheer amount of
information and programs supplied by the SBI system can be more than
a little overwhelming, especially for beginning webmasters or marketers.

However, if you take it one step at a time and go the video training route,
most newcomers quickly adjust to all the information being supplied. And
again, it is the forum with its whole community of SBI users which comes
to the rescue – there is nothing like getting tips and help from people
who have gone down the same road as you have.

SiteSell is the complete package. It will take you step-by-step through
the whole process of creating your online website. It will also give you
all the marketing tools and programs you need to succeed on the web. It
will help you create your own online business if that is your goal.

For businesses or companies, SiteSell does offer marketing packages which
will do all the hard work for you and run your online site. For those
companies which want an online presence but don’t want to do the actual
day-to-day running of a site, this can be an attractive solution.

Overall, Ken Evoy and SiteSell is a very professional and very complete
online hosting/marketing package which won’t disappoint. It gives you
everything you need to start and run an online site or business. Sure,
it costs a little more than other hosting packages, but in this world
you get what you pay for and you will soon discover what you get from
SiteSell is simply priceless.

And I am not just saying that because they gave me a Sub-domain. Honest!

BWMagic’s Internet Marketing News

How Well Do You Know Your OWN Site? Your Competitor’s?
These Handy SEO Tools Will Reveal All!

Needless to say, if you have a website, you will already know
it is becoming very competitive on the web. If you’re in a
lucrative niche market you will have probably already felt this
competition, not only from webmasters like yourself, but also
from major multi-billion dollar companies who have wised up
and SEOed up to take advantage of all this free organic traffic
coming from the search engines.

The competition is getting brutal.

For example, in some of my niche markets, I am competing to
get on the first page in Google for keywords that have over
220,000,000 competing pages. Hitting those first 10 spots is
where the money is located. You have to get onto that first
page in order to see your best results. And it is becoming
harder and harder to stay in those top 10 spots.

Of course, one marketing tactic is to simply NOT compete at
all, and go for the “long tail keyword phrases” which have
less traffic but also less competition so you can get on the
first page of Google within a few days. This route will save
you a lot of frustration and sleepless nights.

However, if you’re like me and have held some lucrative keywords
on the first page of Google for over 4 or 5 years… seeing other
webmasters and especially big corporations come in and bump your
listing off the first page – totally ticks me off!

As the competition gets harder, you have to get smarter. Especially
if you have a small site with limited resources to spend on building
links and creating unique content. So you have to try and outwit your
competition.

Now if you know me, I am always pushing the “knowledge” button.
The more you know about your competition, the more able you are
to compete with them. And to a certain extent, the more you know
the more able you are to even beat your competition.

Over the years, I have used countless tools and software programs
to really get to know my competition. Thankfully, there are many
free programs you can use to discover most of what you should know
about your competition.

First, simply using the Google search engine will tell you who is
listed on the first page for your chosen keyword or keywords.
It will also tell you how many pages you’re competing against.
Now if you have a multi-worded phrase put quotation marks around
the “keyword phrase” and do an exact search in Google, which will
tell you the number of webpages which has this exact phrase
on them. This is probably your true competition.

Then you have to take a close look at your competition. Here is
one free tool that has been around since 2005 and you don’t even
have to sign-up to use it.

http://www.reactionengine.com/

Just type in your site’s URL + a keyword and this tool will analyze
the SEO factors for you. They will even give you a “grade” for your
page!

But most importantly, they will give you some very valuable
information about your own site or your competitor’s site. You
can use this information to better design your site to hit all
the proper SEO signals which the search engines use to rank your
site.

In a recent WebProNews video interview, Matt Cutts said Google
has over 200 signals which it uses to rank pages. Now these
are the ranking factors which Google uses to rank your pages.

But really they are signals… give off the wrong signals and your
page will go down in the rankings. You really want all your
on-page SEO signals to be done right – simply because this is something
you have total control over.

For example, if you use the link above, it will tell you how
well you’re using your site against a certain keyword:

- is your main keyword in the title?

- is it in the meta tags?

- is it in the heading?

- is it in the body?

All these things do affect how well your site ranks in the
search engines. So it might be beneficial to take a look at
your site and see how will it does. And make any appropriate
changes.

Once you have taken a really close look at your site or page,
then you have to examine your main competition. Take a look at
how their site performs for your chosen keyword. What are
they doing different from you? How are their pages optimized
for the search engines? See how they are ranked?

Now look at how you can improve your site to better compete
with your competition. By first getting all your on-page SEO
factors/signals better optimized will help you compete better
with your competition.

Of course, there are many different sites like the one above
which you can use to find out more information about your
competition. I also like using:

www.compete.com
www.seotoolbook.com
www.iwebtool.com

Plus, as you probably know, I am a long-time user of the
Firefox Toolbar Add-on from

SEO Quake

This handy SEO toolbar gives me all the important SEO pointers
about a site while I am surfing. It does slow down your browser
a bit, but the information you get is as they say: priceless.

When I am checking out a site – either my competitor or when I
am looking for search partners, one thing I always check out on
this toolbar is the “SEMRush SE Traffic Price” this tells me the
worth of the search engine traffic this site is receiving each month.
If they had to pay for this traffic – that’s how much it would cost
them. Someone with $500,000 worth of traffic coming in each month,
probably knows what they’re doing when it comes to keyword positioning.

And another one is Alexa.com which I like to use to see the
traffic numbers, but also to check some of the links my competing
sites have. One marketing tactic, go out and try to get the same links
as your competition. If you want to truly compete with your competition
and beat them, you have to “out-link” them.

You also have to take a really close look at their whole site and
how it is constructed. What social network/bookmark sites are they
using? Are they using Twitter? Are they using Facebook? Are they
using Adsense? How many pages do they have indexed in the search
engines?

All of these things will add to your “knowledge” about your
competition. The more knowledge you have, the better you will
be able to compete…

Anyway, this is just some of the things you can do to check out
how well your site is optimized for SEO and also some ways
you can check out your competition. Go get ‘em!

Google Keyword Research Tool

If you have a website you will already know how important
Keywords are for getting traffic to your site. Keywords are
those all important words web surfers use to find your site.

Now Google provides a lot of help with keywords with some
great tools and information, which are mainly geared to helping
their Adwords customers but anyone can use these tools. You
simply type in your site and a keyword – then Google will
gives you a list of keywords related to your site compared
to what people are searching for on the web using Google’s
search engine.

They will give you the number of searches made each month
and what Adwords users have to pay if they want to buy traffic
from Google. It also gives you the amount of competition
for each keyword.

This tool can be helpful in finding new keywords for your
site even if you’re not doing Adwords. It can also help you
find keywords you never thought of using.

You should give it a try:

Google Keyword Search Tool

If you want more information on using this Google Keyword
Research Tool try this helpful link from SearchEngineLand:

Googles Search Based Keyword Tool

Marketing Tip:

While you’re researching your site’s keywords, keep in mind,
long-tail keyword pharses are those longer phrases which have
fewer searches each month but they are much easier to get on
the first page of Google since there is little competition.

My favorite marketing technique is to study my traffic logs and
pick out these phrases which are showing up in Google – if any
phrases bring in sales or sign-ups, I then place these keyword
phrases into article titles and in the anchor text of the resource
box links where I link to the interior page on my site which has
this same phrase in it, so that I can boost my rankings up to the
number #1 spot in Google for those phrases. Simple but effective
long-tail keyword makeitng.

Advanced Tip: If you want those all important traffic pulling
“Double Listings” for a keyword pharse in Goolge. Link to both
your homepage and your interior page using the same phrase in
your article resource boxes.
