o Trick or Treat - Happy Halloween!

Since it's Halloween...

As a treat here's a small list of some of the
free gifts, marketing tools, and resources that
are given away on my main site - bizwaremagic.com.
Over the many years this list has grown and
things get added and subtracted as new better
marketing products come online. It's just a small
sampling of the resources that are listed on
the Bizwaremagic site.

Hope you will try a few and see how effective they
can be in your own marketing. Some of them like
the DATEwise eCalendar are just simple software
programs that make the running of your site or
business a little easier. Just something that will
help you make it thru the day with your mind firmly
intact!

Other programs like the SEO Elite can have a significant
influence on your online business. Anyway, here's the
list...

ENJOY!

Treat#1 DATEwise eCalendar - this is proving to be
a very popular addition to my site. I get comments from
people all over the world telling me how much they like
this simple calendar and personal planner. If yourdon't already
have a copy -- grab one here: Free Desktop Calendar

Treat#2 Free eFax - Another popular program on my site. Many
people are switching to email faxes and this is the program
they're choosing. But be warned, this treat comes with a trick!
You can only receive free faxes - if you want to send faxes you
have to pay a small fee. Hey, it's Halloween!
Free eFax

Treat#3 SEO Elite - This is Brad Callen's free trial of
Seo Elite. You can buy the full version BUT the free version
plus Brad Callen's excellent newsletter (The best I have seen on
the web so far or since Sean Burns disappeared!) will do nicely.
It's the one single product/resource you should definitely
take from this list! Please Note, since I have other linking
software in place on my site, I haven't tried or needed the
full version of Seo Elite but it is widely and completely
recommended by most marketers on the web.
SEO Elite

Treat#4 Link Popularity Check - Great piece of free software
that you can place on your desktop to check your links.
Free Download - Check your links popularity- Software

guide and report on RSS. If you don't have it - please try
it. RSS is going to make a big difference on the web soon!
We haven't seen nothing yet! Podcasting is just the start.
Wait till the Broadcatching phrase begins - Apple's iPod now
has colour video + sound. Wait till the 'p' merchants
get a hold of this one. Contrary to what most people believe
the Internet was/is not mainly based on information but 'p'.
RSS Report and Guide

Treat#6 Opt-in Toolkit - Simple starter kit to building an
opt-in list. We all need own own opt-in list.
Optin E-mail Tool Kit

Treat#7 Not on my site but this one of the most valuable
resources for any webmaster, big or small. Make it the
cornerstone of any web site you build! It will give you
the keywords you need for a successful site.www.nichebot.com

Treat#8 Magic Story. You have to read this one to find
out what it's all about. It changed my life!Magic Story

Treat#9 Clickbank Guide - Selling eProducts thru the Clickbank
Affiliate Program is one of my best income earners. If you want
to earn an extra income or just want some spare 'fun money' - try
promoting Clickbank Products on your site. Rick Davies and
1st Promotion is one Clickbank resource that won't disappoint.

Treat#10 Dell Notebook Coupons - for those in the market for
a Dell laptop or notebook. Don't buy a Dell until you can make
use of their discount coupons. You will save 100's of dollars
OFF a new laptop. These coupons are snapped up very quickly,
and are usually limited in time and numbers of units sold.
But if you're patient and quick - you can get that DELL

o How To Survive a Google Dance!

This week was a very nerve racking time for webmasters.
Google is in the middle of another one of her dances.
Jagger I believe its called this time.

When ever Google dances, I become very uneasy and
for good reason. Years ago, with the Florida Update,
my main site was nearly wiped from Google. Some of
it came back but not all.

This time around, I had a lot more strategies in place,
to help me weather this Google Dance. Those strategies
did help somewhat... my PR went up to PR5. I kept the
rankings for most of my keywords.

So here's a very detailed article on how you too, can
survive a Google Dance. Simple things you can do...

Simple Strategies For Surviving A Google Dance
Copyright © 2005 Titus Hoskins

Google is dancing again! A full tilt all out boogie -
a long drawn out rumble somewhere near cursor heaven.
My own keywords are going up, down and out the door.
Take your pick. Just want the bloody thing to stop.
My nerves are shot... three years of hard work may just
go down the drain and there's no end in sight!

Fellow webmasters will recognize my slight desperation,
my total sense of unease when Google dances. It all has to
do with pre-conditioning, psych majors will know this,
I am well conditioned to react. I have been burnt horribly
by Google dances in the past so my panic is almost palatable.
Forget Pavlov's dog, when Google dances, webmasters like
me salivates.

And Google is really dancing this time, Jagger has nothing
on this baby. Nobody dances like Google, even puts Seinfeld's
Elaine to shame. And if you're new to the webmaster's favorite
folly, a Google dance happens with Google adjusts its ranking
algorithm, causing a ripple effect and adjustments in the
rankings of keywords. Sites move up or down. Previous major
Google dances have been called Florida, Austin, Bourbon...

When Google dances, webmasters sweat bullets. And it's not
all in their heads. It's not psychosomatic. Horror stories abound,
about honest hard working webmasters (not a black hat to be seen)
suddenly waking up to find their site or sites gone from Google.
Thousands of daily visitors/customers to their site vanish
in an algorithmic fog overnight. Swift. Brutal. Painful.

Gone, top ranking keywords nowhere to be seen. Gone, visitors,
visitors, visitors. Gone, sales, sales, sales...

More times than not, the sites come back or regain their
positions (rankings for popular keywords - for the totally
uninitiated, keywords or keyword phrases are what people type
into search engines to find what they're looking for), keywords
are the conerstones of the whole Internet. Without them, the
Internet as we know it, would not work.

Mastering Google means mastering your site's keywords or phrases.
Get a top ten SERPs ranking for your keywords and changes are
very good you will have a successful site. Webmasters work
for years getting their site's keywords up into the
top keyword ranking spots. Countless fortunes have been made
by those who have mastered the game. Countless fortunes have
tumbled when Google dances.

Of course, the sensible thing to do is for all webmasters
to unite and bring Google down a peg or two. At least in our
own minds, if not in the real world. Don't place so much
importance on Google. Yes, it's very important, but snap out
of it. The more webmasters whine and moan about Google's
erratic dances, algorithm and rankings - the more power we are
giving Google.

Why is Google still so important to webmasters? MSN and Yahoo
are gaining ground but Google is still the top dog and here's
why: As far as the search engine market goes, whether it's
wearing a halo or a cursor, Google is still the only game
in town. According to Alexa, a company that tracks web traffic,
the top three sites on the Web are 1-Yahoo, 2-MSN, and 3-Google.
However, when you compare where people go on these sites -
search.yahoo.com accounts for only 9% of Yahoo's traffic and
search.msn.com only 7% of MSN's total traffic; whereas most
of Google's traffic is search traffic. This is a big distinction.

Once burnt, twice shy. Years ago, the Florida Update totally wiped
my site from the Google Radar. Hence my total apprehension
when one of these dances comes along. I wanted my site to survive
the next Google dance so I put some simple strategies into place that
would hopefully help me weather this and future Google dances.
Strategies that you might also find helpful to fight your
own private battle with Google.

o My Top 5 Most Effective Free Marketing Tools

There are many free marketing tools and resources
that are very effective if you know how to use them
properly. Marketing tools that can help you plan
an Internet marketing system that will surprise and
reward you time and time again. The trick is in how you
approach your online marketing and how you use these
marketing tools.

You must start at the very beginning.

Everything on the Internet is Keyword Driven or Keyword
Powered. Unless you start with this premise, unless you
make it your starting point, unless you realize the
Internet is run, not by humans, but by algorithms and
the search engines - if you don't believe that, then
you're wasting your time.

It's a pure numbers game, make the numbers work for you
and you will succeed. Have more numbers on your side, and
you will beat out the competition. It's as simple as that.

Before you even start a marketing web site - you must
check the numbers! Is there anyone searching for the
product you will be selling on your site. If so, how many?
Are there other sites selling the same product, if so,
how many?

Where do you check those numbers? There are simple
tools and sites that will give you the answers. I use a
free site www.nichebot.com - it will give you how
many people are searching your keyword each month,
it will also give you the number of competing sites
targeting the same product. It will also even give
your the ratio - how stiff the competition will be.
Lower the ratio - the better the chance you have
of succeeding with your product.

I also check my keywords with http://www.pixelfast.com/overture/ -
it will also give you how many searches are made
in the previous month for your keyword. But it will
also give you what other marketers and businesses are
willing to pay for a single click to your keyword. This
will tell you if your keywords are profitable, if other
marketers are willing to pay 'x' amount for your
keywords - chances are it's a profitable keyword or
phrase.

Next, I use the Google Bar which tells me how much
PR ranking each competing site has according to
Google. Three thirds of my search engine traffic
comes from Google - I make it a point of targeting
this traffic. Google ranks each page on the
Internet with a PR ranking - 1 to 10. Higher is
better. If many sites with PR5 or over are competing
for your chosen keywords - the competition might be stiff
and you can choose other keyword phrases.

Articles are the most effective free tools I have
found. An article is just a free marketing tool, one
that you can use to your advantage. Again, we go back
to your keywords - you must put your keywords into
your marketing articles. Focus on one or two keywords
per article - but don't simply stuff your article with
your keywords, make your article truly informative
so people will read it and other webmasters will
want to put it on their sites.

Used properly, article marketing is a very effective
marketing system that can drive targeted traffic to
your keywords and your site.

One other free tool I must mention. That is RSS.
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is the best free
instrument you can have in your marketing toolchest.
RSS It!

Even using a free blogging site like www.blogger.com,
which is owned by Google, can have a very beneficial
effect on your keywords. Just start a blog on the major
keywords of your site. Make your blog informative and
entertaining but always keep your keywords in mind. It
will move your site up in the rankings and now that Google
has introduced Blog Search - your blogs will even bring
you more traffic.

If your marketing is stalled, if you're stuck and don't
know what to do next or can't afford expensive SEO services or
buying your own traffic. Then just have a look at the free
resources listed above, try them, use them, and you
will soon have an effective marketing system in place.

Simple works best. This system works. But you have
to at least give it a try.

o Top 5 Sources Of Targeted Traffic For Your Site
(How To Empower Your Site With Targeted Traffic)

o Still Confused About RSS? Try RSS It!

....................

o Top 5 Sources Of Targeted Traffic

I get on average around 10,000 to 12,000 unique visitors
to my main site each month. Actually, when you're speaking
about the Internet, that's not too much to brag about, but
it's better than getting say - 1000 or 2000 visitors; that
was my usual rate until I aggressively went after targeted
traffic for my site.

I thought I would briefly and in very simple terms explain
how I increased the targeted traffic to my main site from
around 1,000 to 10,000 unique visitors each month. That's
a ten-fold increase - I am aiming for a hundred-fold increase
but would gladly settle for thirty or forty times the traffic.

How did I increase my site's traffic? The answer might just
help you get more traffic to your own site. Most of these
techniques are very simple to implement and if you're
serious about building an online business, lets face it,
the first thing you're going to need is targeted visitors to
your site.

I hope you have noticed I have mentioned the words 'targeted
visitors' several times already. I did this to bring home
the fact that you're not just after traffic but targeted
traffic or visitors to your site. You want visitors to
your site who are already interested in your site's topic
and are more likely to benefit from your site's content or
products.

It's the first ingredient for a successful web site.

Below are my 5 main sources of targeted traffic to
my site. Along with a short explanation of how you
can create or put the same practices to work for your
own site.

1. RSS EMPOWERED One of most effective sources of traffic
to my site would have to be my blogs and RSS feeds. Notice
I said blogs and feeds; I have created simple blogs and feeds
for the major topics of my site - on rss resources, web
hosting solutions, notebook computers, etc. These blogs
and feeds bring in a great number of targeted visitors
to my site.

With the introduction of Google Blog Search, my blog traffic
is increasing even more. Within minutes of posting to my
blog - I am getting targeted traffic from Google. You
are instantly indexed by Google Blog Search - it's reason
enough for every webmaster to put at least one blog
on their site. Great RSS Guide from Ken Evoy
RSS It!

Try to imagine the traffic you'll get when the next
RSS empowered Windows browser arrives from Microsoft.
Get your own site ready and prepared for RSS to take
advantage of all this traffic. Just use Google owned
blogger.com - it has that all important blog search
bar at the top!

2. SEO EMPOWERED Still the main source of traffic to my
site are the search engines. Mainly from Google, followed
by MSN and Yahoo. You must optimize your site for the search
engines. This includes off/site links and on/site tactics.

I have been online since '98 so I thought I knew how to
optimize a web site. Boy, was I ever wrong!
I didn't notice a big jump in my traffic until I stumbled
across a SEO expert, actually stumble is
the wrong word, I actually sought out the best SEO
expert I could find. His name is Brad Callen.
He offers a free email course on how to optimize your
sites for the search engines. His main product is
Seo Elite.

Just the free course and his helpful newsletter have
really fine-tuned my site, which resulted in a major
increase of traffic especially from Google. You should
try the same for your site or sites and see the results
for yourself.Seo Elite

3. ARTICLE EMPOWERED This one works. Article marketing for
me has been the major reason for the turn around in the
amount of traffic my sites were receiving. It's still one
of the most effective ways to get targeted visitors to your
site.

Getting your articles published in ezines and on sites
such as addme.com or sitepronews.com will generate an
enormous amount of traffic to your site. As a bonus, you
even get 100's of subscribers to your own ezine in one day!

The trick is to write helpful how-to articles on current
topics that other webmasters want on their sites - this will
boost your link popularity with the search engines and
increase your rankings. You must also very carefully
choose the right keywords to target in your articles -
matching the content on your site. One way to do this
is with a site like www.nichebot.com - it will show
how to pick the right 'competitive' keywords for your
site. You must target keywords that have high traffic,
yet little competition from competing web sites.

My main sources of traffic from article sites include
Ezinearticles.com

Buzzle.com

4. EZINE EMPOWERED Building a large opt-in list or subscribers
to my ezine is another method that brings in a lot of traffic
to my site. You can use an ezine to offer helpful tips to your
subscribers. It is a very easy way to get repeat visitors
to your site and build up a relationship with your visitors.

Your ezine should relate to your site's theme and offer
more information on the same. Whether you believe it not,
if you operate a site on a particular subject for a couple of
years, you will fast become an expert on that subject.
People will regard you as such and this will also bring
in visitors to your site.
How To Build Your Own Opt-In List

5. VIRAL MARKETING EMPOWERED Another way to attract targeted
visitors is to offer a free product or service. I use free
brandable reports that visitors can download and use. These
reports and ebooks have links back to my sites. One of my most
popular ones is a timely report and guide on how to use and
benefit from RSS on all your sites. It brings in a lot of traffic.

Similar to the one above, I use other free viral techniques to
build targeted traffic to my site. These are products that can
be branded with your links and passed around. Helpful software
programs that match the theme of your site are good choices to
make.

Another popular one that I have on my site is the DATEwise
eCalendar and personal planner that visitors can download and
place on their desktops. It has hotlinks to my site that brings
in traffic. It can be customized with your site's products so
you get targeted visitors or customers.DATEwise eCalendar

OTHER SOURCES There are other sources of traffic for my site that
I find effective but they bring in lesser traffic than the methods
listed above. But they are still worth mentioning, one of these is
regular posting on major online forums. This brings in very good
targeted traffic, so too, is posting comments in online blogs.

Another good source is a traffic exchange called 'Traffic Swarm' - most
sites where members exchange traffic don't work. You get worthless
hits to your site. However, Traffic Swarm is one exception that
your should try. You just set your start page to this exchange, and
click on sites you want to visit.

Increasing targeted traffic to your site is an ongoing struggle
for every webmaster. I hope you can try some of the techniques
that have worked for me. I am sure they will also work for you.

There are hundreds or thousands of other ways to get targeted visitors
to your site. One major marketer that has come out with ebook on
this subject is Marlon Sanders. He's a well known marketer and he
explains "How I Got 1 in Every 102 English Speaking 'Net Users Worldwide
To Visit My Web Sites"!

That's 2.8 million unique visitors. Have a quick look at his product, I
am sure he can give you some other helpful traffic tips...

The Google Sun Dance

Better Known As The Stanford Waltz In E Minor

Many small webmasters and bloggers, like myself, were
disappointed by the very benign announcement by
Sun (Stanford University Network) Microsystems and
Google this week.

On the surface, (Read what they want us to know!) there
didn't seem to be much announced - except the plan to
promote Google's toolbar with Java downloads, and vague
plans for the future - nothing for the small webmaster
to get excited about.

Very disappointing when you consider these Dance Partners
have a very long history, they all started at Stanford University.
Andy Bechtolsheim, one of Sun’s co-founders, gave Larry Page
and Sergey Brin $100,000 in 1998 so that Google could be
incorporated. And Eric Schmidt, Google's CEO, spent 14 years
working under Sun's CEO Scott McNealy.
www.msnbc.msn.com.

Where are these Dance Partners headed?

One was hoping for some major announcement like a Google browser,
operating system or even a revolutionary device in the mode of
Apple's Ipod - a totally wireless device that would cough up
the Internet and all of Google's vast resources, e-mail, maps,
instant messaging, search engine SERPs included. SERPs that's
preloaded and updated instantly (Via RSS, Java!) with Google's
index into one powerful educational and marketing machine.

Such a module could even piggy-back onto present day notebook
computers and operating systems but a much more novel approach
would be to create a completely independent contained system
on some cool looking device.

For such a revolutionary device you would need say - free Wi-Fi,
maybe a Satellite Delivery System worthy of the attention of Nasa
and definitely some very powerful servers - wonder what entity could
easily supply those...

I better stop before I get myself into trouble - this is all
pure speculation but even the small webmaster can wonder what
the heck Google is up to. But Google's style seems to be much
more low-key. If we do get a Google browser, it will suddenly
just pop up one day on the Google main page - in beta of
course.

However, I believe the real major event that Google orchestrated
lately is the offer of free Wi-Fi to the San Francisco area. Just
wonder where they're going with this?

Is this the start of a beautiful friendship - will Google take
it further. Lets face it - someone has to offer a global
'free wireless network' - why not Google. It you judge Google
by its past products - it is more than qualified to produce a
quality system.

A global world broadcasting system, (video, sound and Internet)
delivered free of charge and supported by advertising. And if
Google was smart, they would create their own delivery device -
control the whole shebang - with a little help from some newly
acquired dance partners.

Totally free wireless Internet for the whole wide world accessed
anywhere and everywhere on a small portable hand held computer.

Now that's a tune every small webmaster can dance to!

Bizware RSS Ezine - A Gentle Reminder About RSS

BWMagic's List Building Newsletter
(Special RSS Edition) Oct. 2nd - 2005

Warm welcome to all new subscribers!

.................
Contents
.................

o Introduction To RSS 101

(Read the following article to find out why RSS
should become an obsession for Every Webmaster!)

A Gentle Reminder To All Webmasters About RSS
by Titus Hoskins Copyright © 2005

RSS is fast becoming an obsession for me. I didn't
plan for it to be that way. It just happened.

I have been interested in RSS for a couple of years now
but it was only around this time last year that I started
taking a serious look at this little syndication standard
that's changing how we communicate on the web. Really
Simple Syndication. Simple phrase but it changes everything.

I figured what better way to get to know a subject than to
write about it. Going through the vast resources of the Internet,
blogs, forums, ebooks to collect what information I needed for
my ebook and articles. The Internet is one huge storehouse of
knowledge that more than supplied me with enough material to
write a hundred articles.

Coming from a fine art background, I also knew the only way
to really learn about a subject was 'hands on' experience.
So at the same time I started to really implement RSS tactics
on my own sites to get 'first-hand' evidence to prove or back
up my articles and writing. I concentrated on website RSS
techniques that worked with the major Search Engines; starting
my own blogs and RSS feeds to enhance my sites and manipulating
the search engines, feeding the spiders with very legit content
to build targeted traffic to any keyword or market sector I
wanted to promote.

Experiences that have opened my eyes wider than they have been
since kindergarten and RSS is still surprising me at every turn.
Only after I had started researching and writing about RSS did
it dawn on me that I had no idea just how Big a Player RSS is
becoming and will become in the very near future. The impact
will be felt in all areas of the web.

At the beginning of last year I wrote a simple article,
10 Reasons to Put RSS On Your Site. In that article
I stated that this year would be the Breakout Year for RSS...
the year RSS would finally enter the mainstream.

Since that article, during this year, there have been many
developments for RSS. Some of the major ones:

Google Blog Search - Which now opens up the whole area of blog
content and feeds to the one search engine that counts. Google
also finally embraced RSS despite its major investment in the
other syndication standard - Atom. Google bought Blogger.com
a while back which promotes the Atom feed.

Microsoft's Longhorn Statement - The next version of Windows will
have RSS. This will open up RSS to the mass market. This will put
RSS center stage for computer and Internet users.

Media RSS - This will permit the syndication of all types of media,
including video and TV programs through RSS, further opening up RSS
to becoming a broadcasting system for the Internet.

RSS Search - MSN, as well as other search engines, makes it possible to
search RSS feeds for the information we need.

Mozilla Firefox Browser - This RSS powered browser with its 'Live
Bookmarks' is proving very popular with surfers. It also proves you
really don't have to know a thing about RSS to enjoy its benefits
- it can be seamlessly integrated into the background or operating
system with the end-users oblivious to even the existence of RSS.

Commercial RSS - Then there is the whole potential of RSS ads and
advertising which would commercialize RSS and bring it into play by
large corporations who are mainly interested in the bottom line.

website after website. RSS is taking on a life of its own, gaining in
