RSS Roundup - Latest RSS News You Should Know AboutRSS interests me, don't know why exactly, but it does.
I have been keeping track of it for over two or three years.
But I have just recently became involved in RSS marketing and
it has make a big difference.
How you ask?
Well, for one, I can now get a keyword or keyword phrase
indexed in Google in about a week. Some savvy marketers may
laugh at that, but it means a lot to your bottom line if you
can get even a low traffic paying keyword into Google.
Low traffic means 100-300 clicks a month according to Overture
which keeps track of how many searches are make for a keyword
each month. Paying - means you have a product or affiliate product
for sale when someone clicks on your keyword or phrase. Also,
conversion rate is very important - if it takes only 20 clicks
to make one sale - then you're in business even for low traffic
niche keywords.
Conversion rate has to be judged over time or for the long run.
I recently got a sale with only 12 clicks - thought I had
hit the jackpot - 300 clicks later - no more sales... so you have
to measure your conversion rate over a large number of clicks.
That sale was probably a fluke - may never get another sale with that
product. However, once something works - it usually keeps working!
Where does RSS come into all this you ask? One word - Blogger.com -
which is owned by Google. Placing you keyword or phrase in the
proper manner into Blogger will get your keyword into Google.
The higher the PR of your Blog the faster and higher your keyword
will place in Google. Of course, it's also helpful to support or
boost your keyword with anchor text links around the web.
Then again, you can fast-track all this by directly buying
traffic to your keywords with Adwords. Find out more how you can
use Adwords here:
Google Cash FileBut for me, that takes the all the fun out of it! I like figuring out
ways that work and manipulating Google. It always puts a smile on my face!
Google has also embraced RSS lately, with their XML powered
Sitemaps. You should get your Google Sitemaps up and running...
it only took 13 hours after submitting my XML Sitemap to Google
that my site was crawled. I believe, in order to best position your
site in Google you must use the Sitemaps program. Find out how here:
Google Sitemaps ExplainedBut that's not the BIG LATEST NEWS concerning RSS that you should
know about.
What should really put a smile on your face is the New RSS Powered
Windows that was promised in the Longhorn Statement make by Microsoft
last month
Micosoft's RSS Longhorn Announcement.
It will change the way we use computers and the Internet. That might
sound grandiose coming from a small web person like myself, but sometimes
even small people get a glimpse of the 'big picture'.
As a trained artist, I sometimes see the 'whole composition' a
little quicker than the rest. Being a bit nuts about RSS also
helps, but its not clouding my judgment or assessment in this case.
It's the concept or idea of RSS that most people don't get. It's
just a bit of code that syndicates your content. But that's like
saying Einstein's E=mc2 is just a math equation.
It means much more. So does RSS.
RSS will or has changed HOW content is passed along or exchanged
on the Net - Don't come to us, we will deliver.
Behind that statement comes a lot of applications that will actually
change how you use your computer and the Internet. List keeping,
enclosures, podcasting, broadcatching - basically it has the potential
to change every website on the www into its own mini broadcasting
system.
We see that already, with news sites like CNN giving video on demand
- you control the direction or what you want to view in the RSS Billion
channel Internet of the future. And as download times become
instant, and they will - video on demand will also become commonplace.
Now you can subscribe to your favorite website channel and view all
the sound/video feeds on your favorite topic - be it needlepoint,
rugby, or those channels where really attractive people show their
naughty bits!
It all has the possibly of exploding when RSS is introduced in the
next Windows. And if Microsoft gets it right, RSS will be quietly
integrated into the operating system - people shouldn't even
have to know or worry about RSS - just reap the benefits of some
cool applications that they now can do on their computers and
when they're browsing the web. Keep it in the background, just give
Windows users all the neat stuff. Keep it simple, keep it hidden,
and RSS will deliver the goods.
I for one, will be saving my pennies and will be first in line to
give Bill Gates a few more bucks. Such is the power of RSS.

Article Marketing - This Works, read my firsthand experiences
with article marketing and fill out how it may also help your
sales and traffic.
Magic is a word that comes to mind...
Certain things on the web happen like magic! That is, it just
seems like magic how things just happens. Article writing
works like magic - but you have to experience that firsthand
to believe it.
I have hear stuff about article writing for years. But this is
the first time I have used article writing in my marketing.
It has made a big difference!
Here are a few of my experiences...
In January of this year I started writing articles... I am only
up to about #30 but it has been very rewarding.
Just this week, thanks to articles in Addme, Sitepronews, and other
sites and ezines... my main site made it into the top 15,000 sites
on the net (According to Alexa) -- that's the first time that has
happened and it was only there for a brief while.
But large spikes in traffic to your site helps to get your
name 'out there', also having your article read by 1/2 million
subscribers doesn't hurt either.
It all has to do with the power of article writing... one time
getting over a 100 subscribers in one day would make me go 'wow'
...not anymore. I reached over 200 due mainly to article writing
and that's WITHOUT a subscriber email link in the resource box
of my articles... I want traffic to directly come to my site.
But I will be putting an email subscriber link in future
articles and see how that works.
I have tripled my numbers of links coming to my site with
article writing. Some of these sites have high PR (page rank)
and that must have increased my rankings. It must be
doing something, because I am now getting traffic
from all the major search engines including Yahoo and
MSN. Must caution, it is not a great deal of traffic but
it's targeted and free!
If you haven't tried article marketing, I suggest you
give it a go. Get your articles 'out there' - wait a
few months and things will start happening with your site
or sites.
A couple pieces of great hardware has recently come
online dealing with article marketing.
Jason Potash's excellent Article Announcer
helps in getting your articles circulated on the
web and in ezines. I believe it's all sold out but
you can still check out the software here:
Article AnnouncerAnother nice piece of software is Len Thurmond's
Article Automator. This software helps you build keyword rich article
pages for your sites. Article marketing works both ways...
its a great way to add content to your sites and bring in
extra traffic. So if you're interested in article marketing,
keep reading...

o SoapBox Article - Kindergarten Dropout Makes a Huge Fortune
in Internet Marketing...
Sometimes I just have to write to get stuff off my chest and this
is my latest SoapBox Article. It's meant to be in fun but there's a
serious marketing strategy that's shown and if can mean all the
difference in the world to your marketing endeavors... hopefully it
will also put a smile on your face and an idea in your head.
Here's my teaser...
Internet Marketing is a virtual minefield of myths, exaggerations
and hype. Separating fact from fiction is a daunting task that
requires superhuman powers of deduction. So if you're thinking about
entering into this perilous world, read this article to make sure
you start off on the right track...

Feature Article
................
Kindergarten Dropout Makes A Huge Fortune In Internet MarketingHyperboles abound in Internet Marketing. Myth has its own area code.
Hype has its own country. And BS, its own universe.
Anyone desiring to enter this perilous terrain should proceed with
caution. Wearing a full body hype-resistant armor is
strongly recommended. If that's not available, growing a second
layer of thick skin is advisable.
For the beginning marketer, novice webmaster or the Internet
hobbyist who just wants to earn a little extra income, all the
hype can be a little overwhelming. All the rhetoric may prove
totally mind boggling. Deadly even.
Who to believe? What to believe?
It's a virtual minefield and you only have your cursor for a guide.
It can be down right scary if you're not prudent with
your checkbook or your morals you can be misled, swindled,
and beguiled before you even turn on your computer.
Separating fact from fiction requires considerable skill, usually
reserved for the judgments of Solomon.
Where to begin? Where to start?
This is where most would-be Internet Marketers go wrong from the
'get-go'. They start out with the wrong mindset. They want a
'product/software/guru/guardian angel' to come and show them what
to do. They want everything to magically come to them. As if
success in Internet Marketing, because it has to do with computers,
can be magically produced or brought about with the right
software program or the latest gizmo.
They want everything done for them.
Well, it doesn't work that way. Sure you can buy the latest 'info-
product' or the latest 'software program' and some of these will even
work for awhile or produce income but you're still not getting off
on the right track. You're not setting the right foundation.
First, you have to 'Learn how to Learn'!
Learn how to teach yourself. Learn how you can use the vast
resources of the Net to teach yourself all you need to know
about Internet Marketing. Acquire the necessary skills to
become self-taught.
The journey may take a little longer, but you will learn more
along the way and you will develop a greater self-reliance.
In the end, it's you who will have to build that web site,
provide the content, do the SEO work, do the marketing...so get
your Internet Business grounded with the right foundation.
Place yourself as the cornerstone of anything you wish
to build.
The Internet gladly gives up its secrets. Search them out. Find them.
Study them. It's the best training ground ever created. The wealth of
information is truly astounding. The collective intelligence of a whole
world...
Ok, so the hyperbole meter is rising again, but you get the picture.
Next time you're tempted, don't drool over the latest Guru's
'How To's'...'Kindergarten Dropout Makes a Bundle Working Only
40 Seconds on the Internet Each Day', 'How I Turned Google Into My
Own Personal Cash Slave', 'My Secrets Are Worth 20 Million a
Month to Me, I Just Can't Wait to Tell You Everything'!
Don't be fooled by the slick copy writing, don't be tempted to
reach for that plastic wand.
Take a smarter approach. Use your brain. Use your God Given
Intelligence. Don't buy the latest offerings from the next big
hot 'marketing guru'.
Instead, do this.
If a marketing expert is making $15,000 a month with
Google Adsense, don't automatically go out and buy his/her
book of secrets. Use your head - if you have the time, seek
out their sites and pick them apart. Study the lay-out, study
the design, study the keywords. Learn everything you
can, and apply it to your own web site or marketing.
The Internet gives up its secrets, nature of the beast!
Next.
Don't cultivate a need for the latest marketing 'tell-all' info-product,
but rather cultivate a relationship with the source. Seek out the
experts. Find one or two in the areas of Internet Marketing you
need help with: SEO, Mini Sites, Affiliate Marketing, List Building,
Google Adsense/Adwords, Copy Writing, etc.
Get to know the marketer who's selling the product, join his/her
affiliate program, sign up to their opt-in newsletter, ask them
questions in the online forums. Be nice, be curious, be helpful to
them - whether it's selling their products, bringing in more affiliates
or just being of assistance if asked for. Always remember, it's a two
way street and must be beneficial to both parties, so give as well
as receive.
Build relationships and you will build a foundation of knowledge that
you can draw from again and again. Develop these relationships with
a diverse group of marketing experts in the areas of interest that's
vital to your Internet Marketing and you will be at the right starting
point.
Nurture these relationships, grow them, watch them bloom and
your own marketing results will harvest the rewards.
All you really have to do is Learn How To Learn. Teach yourself
and you will never have to go back to Kindergarten ever again.
Or buy another marketing info-product!
